In this course we will understand what each letter stands for in the acronym MEP. We will then break down the acronym to understand the basic functions of each of those letters. Once we understand the different components of MEP, we will demonstrate our knowledge of the roles that come into play in the MEP process. Lastly, we will understand more about the role of an MEP contractor and what it’s like to work in this field.

In an effort to attract an even more diverse group of applicants to the most elite schools of architecture, The Architecture Is Free Foundation, in partnership with Ace Mentor Programs of America, asked some of the top schools of Architecture in the United States to prepare short videos directed to our students. The objective of the video is to give tips and advice on how to prepare a successful application, including portfolio and essay writing advice. We hope that in this way we can continue to break down barriers to educational inclusion. The Architecture Is Free Foundation continues to provide mentoring support and assistance to students that need help preparing portfolios and editing essays. It is our hope that If the world we live in is to truly be a valid expression of our collective cultural moment, then it has to be designed by a representative cross-section of people that live in the world, not just the unencumbered elite few.
